Thailand To Implement Education Reforms
BANGKOK, March 20 (Bernama) - Thai Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha has instructed the Education Policy Development Committee (EPDC) to prepare a five-year education reform plan aimed at boosting graduates' competitiveness in the Asean Economic Community (AEC), Thai News Agency (TNA) reported.
Deputy Education Minister Krissanapong Kirtikara told a press conference after a meeting with Prayut on Thursday that the EPDC will coordinate with the National Reform Council (NRC) and National Legislative Assembly (NLA) to implement the plan.
Prayut has proposed that the reforms be focused on a distance learning television (DLTV) and advised parties concerned to learn from the education systems of Finland, Singapore and South Korea.
The Education Department will work with the private sector to develop a vocational educational syllabus to enable at least 100,000 graduates to find jobs this year.Source: BERNAMA.com
